UK Department of Education delegation visits KERIS
A UK Department of Education delegation visited KERIS on March 4 to discuss AI-powered education and technology use in education. KERIS introduced its key projects and services, including AI-based digital textbook, to the delegation. The delegation also visited the Edutech Open Lab placed in Daegu Digital Innovation Agency(DIP), which was relocated next to the EdTech Softlab from KERIS HQ.

Delegations from the State of Paraná, Brazil visited KERIS
On April 20, a delegation from the State of Paraná, Brazil visited KERIS. KERIS introduced its projects and major services, and demonstrated its AI-embedded primary math learning services (Toctoc Math Expedition, Zazan Math) and digital textbooks. The delegations expressed their keen interest in Korea's digital education policies, platforms, and services. The delegations and KERIS also discussed Korea's experiences and achievements in digital education to improve learning outcomes in secondary education in Brazil.

Brazilian Delegates Visit KERIS to Explore Korea's Innovaion through ICT in Education
On January 31, 2020, four Brazilian delegates serving as an advisory group to the Brazilian Ministry of Education paida special visit to KERIS, led by former KERIS President Dr Daejoon Hwang. As the main purpose of the visiting delegation was to explore specific examples of innovation through ICT in Education, the visit began with a tour of the KERIS Future Education Center and Makerspace - two conceptual spaces showing examples of different integration of high-level and low-level technologies in the leraning environment. In addition, KERIS shared examples of national initiatives across the Korean primary, secondary, and higher education sectors, some of the primary items of interest included Digital Textbook, the Cyber Home Learning System (e학습터), and the Research Information Sharing System (RISS). Furthermore, KERIS shared a number of increasing international initiatives, expressing keen interest on expanding future cooperation with Brazil.

Delegation from Ministry of Education in Guatemala visited KERIS
OnNovember 27, 17 delegates, including Ministry of Educaiton officials, teachers, and educational administration officialsfrom Guatemala visited KERIS to explorethe ICT in education and future education centerin South Korea. The delegation received an introduction about education information services provided by KERIS at the Future Education Center and had the opportunity to directly experience the educational useof ICT through various device experiences. Also, the delegation had the opportunity to visitMakerspace with a number of innovative ICT in education devices and educational software programs that use MR and VR technology. Concluding the visit, KERIS representatives provided the delegation with a comprehensive QA session to discuss a number of additional services and projects KERIS is involved with, such as the digital textbook, RISS, KOCW and so on.

Delegation of Alabama State Department of Education visited KERIS
On November 1st, the super intendentdelegates of Alabama State Department of Education visited KERIS and had a meeting with Dr. Hae Ja Park, the President of KERIS, to discuss on ICT policy development in Korea. The delegation extended thanks to KERIS to make a apportunity to understand the ICT education policy and current state of Korea through visiting programe and also expected to have a cooperation between KERIS and Alabama State for international education cooperation.

Delegation from Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Nepal visited KERIS
OnOctober 31, Delegation from Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Nepal visited KERIS to benchmark the ICT in education in South Korea. The visiting team received an introduction about education information services provided by KERIS at the Future Education Center and had the opportunity to directly experience the educationaluse of ICT through various device experiences. Also, the delegation had the opportunity to visitMakerspace which is experiencing VR and AR contents andworking space for creating and printing directly.

Education Officials from Mongolia Visited KERIS
On October 28th, 15 delegates, consistingof Ministry of Education officials and teachers from Mongolia visited KERIS aspart of the KICE-KOICA Global Training Program, to learn about Korea’s ICT ineducation knowledge and to enhance the ICT skills for Mongolian students. Thevisiting delegation received an introduction of the education informationservices provided by KERIS. Following the presentation, the visiting delegationwas given the opportunity to tour the Future Education Center where they wereable to see and experiment with a number of innovative ICT in education devicesand educational software programs that use AR and VR technology. Through thisvisit, the delegation received a wealth of information regarding Korea’sdevelopment and implementation of ICT in Education policy. KERIS also providedthe delegation with an in-depth QA session to discuss policies andservices surrounding major roles of KERIS such as the National EducationalInformation System, Research Information Sharing Service, software education,and digital textbooks.

Ambassadors to Korea from Romania, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, and Diplomatic Corps in Korea Visited KERIS
On October 22nd, 2019, Ambassadors to the Republic of Korea from Romania, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, along with members of each nation’s respective diplomatic corps stationed in Korea, which consisted of 18 representatives combined, visited KERIS. This visit was arranged as a part of the ‘Good Governance Series in Korea 2019’, which is carried out by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea. During the visit, KERIS representatives introduced a number of leading service, with primary emphasis on NEIS (National Education Information System) - which has been nominated as one of the leading model cases among Korea’s public administration systems. Also, the visiting team received a guided tour of the Future Education Center and Digital Center in KERIS. The exchanges between KERIS and the delegations were meaningful in strengthening international cooperation for innovation and progress of public administration systems, as well as education administrative information systems.

Guests from the Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT) Visited KERIS
On October 18th, 2019, Teshabaev Tulkin(President of TUIT), Tashev Komil (Vice president of TUIT), along with other guestsfrom the Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT) visited KERIS. Atthe KERIS Future Education Center, the visiting delegation received anintroduction of KERIS and learned about the core services KERIS provides in supportingthe development of ICT in Education, not only in Korea, but in a number of developingcountries around the world. Also, a Senior Research Specialist of the e-Administrationand Finance System Section in KERIS, delivered a special lecture on NEIS(National Education Information System) services and its information securitymanagement to the visiting delegation. Subsequently following the lecture, thevisiting team showed great interest in the apparatus of NEIS services andfreely shared their thoughts and questions. Concluding the visit, TUITPresident, Teshabaev Tulkin, thanked the KERIS representatives for themeaningful visit and discussions on education administrative information systemsand expressed great interest and anticipation for future cooperation between KERISand TUIT.

National Council of Educational Research and Training of India visited KERIS
The delegation of National Council of Educational Research and Training of India visited KERIS onSeptember 18th. The guests were introduced the role of KERIS, the promotion of key projects, and the currentpolicy and practicesof ICT in education in Korea, and specifically discussed with KERIShow toimprove digitaltextbooks in India. The delegation commented that they had a satisfactory opportunity at KERISto understand and discuss on ICT in education for moreinclusiveand qualityeducation.
