Since 2023, KERIS has been implementing the Solar Powered Internet School in Rwanda, an Official Development Assistance (ODA) project of the Korean Ministry of Education.
This initiative, carried out in collaboration with domestic edtech companies, focuses on localizing and demonstrating Korean edtech content and services in Rwandan schools.
As part of the project, KERIS has conducted capacity-building trainings for local teachers and piloted classes integrating customized edtech content and services in October, 2024. The pilot program has yielded positive outcomes, with students reporting increased motivation, engagement, and overall learning effectiveness. Additionally, a series of training sessions equipped teachers with the necessary skills to integrate technology into their teaching practices effectively.
Policymakers and educators have recognized the value of edtech as both a powerful instructional aid and an efficient classroom management tool. Through continued collaboration, KERIS remains dedicated to fostering digital education innovation and enhancing learning environments in Rwanda.
